An entrepreneur plans to retrofit the idled ConAgra plant in southern Minnesota and re-open a food processing operation.

Singleteary Food Solutions of Garland, Texas plans to begin operations at the Wells plant in Faribault County in March. Owner Steve Singleteary says the plant initially will employ about a dozen people with plans for a workforce of about 200.

The building once housed ConAgra and Wells Co-Pack food processing operations and has been idle for a couple of years.

The Free Press reports employees will be paid $10 to $12 an hour.
